Simon Ferdinand
Simon Ferdinand
Simon Ferdinand is a Veni Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Literary and Cultural Analysis at the University of Amsterdam. His research focuses on the politics and poetics of mapping and cultural visions of the whole earth.
Simon is the author of the monograph, Mapping Beyond Measure: Art, Cartography, and the Space of Global Modernity. He is also the co-editor of Heterotopia and Globalisation in the Twenty-First Century and Other Globes: Past and Peripheral Imaginations of Globalization. His current research is funded by the Dutch Research Council.
In addition to his academic work, Simon runs English Academic Editing, providing support to scholars preparing research for publication.
Colin Sterling
Colin Sterling is Senior Lecturer in Heritage, Museums and the Environment at the University of Amsterdam. His research investigates the social, political, and ecological dimensions of heritage and museums, both historically and in contemporary contexts.
He is the author of Heritage, Photography, and the Affective Past and co-editor of Deterritorializing the Future: Heritage in, of and after the Anthropocene. Colin has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, edited volumes, exhibition catalogues, and magazines.
His research has been supported by various funding bodies, including the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council, Horizon Europe, the British Academy, and the Dutch Research Council. Colin serves as the editor of the journal Museums & Social Issues.
