Sidney G. Saltz
Sidney G. Saltz has extensive experience in all facets of commercial real estate transactions, including development, leasing, acquisition and sale, financing, and 1031 exchanges. He has represented clients in industrial, office, and retail leasing, as well as ground leases, hotel purchases and sales, movie theater leases, land purchases and sales, and the acquisition and disposition of large apartment complexes.
Mr. Saltz is also a prolific author and sought-after speaker. He has written numerous articles on various aspects of real estate law and lectures extensively on real estate-related subjects. For over twenty years, he lectured about leases to brokers at the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors and has participated in numerous panels at educational programs offered by the American Bar Association.
Mr. Saltz received his bachelor of arts degree, with highest distinction, from Northwestern University in 1959 and his law degree, cum laude, from Yale Law School in 1962, where he served on the Yale Law Journal. He practices in Chicago, IL.
Dean Alterman
In more than 35 years of legal practice, Dean Alterman has advised private businesses and real estate investors on a wide range of matters, including the purchase, sale, and leasing of commercial and multi-family real estate, negotiation of development agreements, formation of condominiums, acquisition and sale of businesses, and other legal issues pertinent to the business world.
Known for his exceptional memory and keen analytical skills, Dean brings to his practice the valuable experience gained from eight years in real estate sales, two terms on a county planning commission, and service as an outside director of a community bank and its holding company.
Dean is a frequent speaker and writer on real estate and land use topics. In 2015, the American Bar Association published his first book, “How to Build a Real Estate Law Practice,” a primer for aspiring real estate lawyers. In 2021, the ABA published his second book, “How to Draft Easements,” a practical guide for real estate attorneys.
When not advising clients, Dean is actively involved in civic leadership in Portland. He has served, or is currently serving, on the boards of numerous cultural and educational organizations, including the Portland Japanese Garden, the Japan-America Society of Oregon, and Portland Piano International.
Dean earned his A.B. in statistics from Harvard College in 1981 and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College in 1989.
