SHUNJI MORI, PhD, formerly a scientist at the Ricoh Research &Development Center in Japan, is a highly respected researcher inthe field of character recognition technology. HIROBUMI NISHIDA, PhD, is an engineer at Ricoh Software ResearchCenter in Japan. A former Associate Professor at the University ofAizu, he is a very active researcher at the forefront of the imageprocessing field. HIROMITSU YAMADA, PhD, is Senior Researcher at the ElectrotechnicalLaboratory in the Ministry of International Trade and Industry inJapan.
