About The Author

Shenaaz Nanji

Shenaaz Nanji was born in Mombassa, Kenya, where she says, “I grew up in a midst of a fusion of cultures: Bantu-Swahili, Arabic and East Indians. I am a cultural hybrid with roots in Indian culture.” While raising her two children, Shenaaz found that there was a lack of multicultural literature, so she began to craft stories of her own, thus beginning her career as a writer. Shenaaz is the author of several books for children, but this is her first project with Barefoot Books. She currently lives in Calgary, Canada, with her husband. Christopher Corr is a painter and illustrator based in London. He travels the world painting people, colorful places and beautiful buildings. Since studying at the Royal College of Art, he has painted in numerous locations for exhibitions, commissions and publications. His travels include India, Cuba, Tunisia, Peru, Tahiti, Australia, the Comoros Islands, New York, Los Angeles and London. Corr has illustrated other popular Barefoot titles including My Granny Went to Market and Off We Go to Mexico.
