Critic Reviews

"A highly individual, masterly piece of work." -- Magpies Magazine
"This unabridged audio version of Shaun Tan's award-winning picture book, first published in 2000, adds another dimension to the deceptively simple story of a boy trying to find a home for a 'lost thing' he has found wandering the streets. Humphrey Bower's well-paced narration of the conversational text, together with the music and sound effects emphasise the surreal melancholic setting while very effectively complementing the illustrations and design of the book. Although the audio version stands alone it is more powerful when used in conjunction with the picture book enhancing the visual and literary experience that Shaun Tan has provided. Highly Recommended." -- Primary Focus Fiction
