About The Author

Sarah van Ingen

David Allsopp, Ph.D., received his doctorate in special education from the University of Florida in 1995. Prior to this, he was a teacher for middle school students with learning disabilities and emotional/behavior problems in Marion County, Florida. Dr. Allsopp’s research and writing interests have focused primarily on instructional methods for students with learning and behavior problems. He has authored or co-authored journal articles, has co-developed instructional development web sites and CD-ROMs, has co-authored multiple federal- and state-funded grants, and regularly presents at state and national conferences. Dr. Allsopp is a member of the Learning Disabilities Association of America and Phi Delta Kappa. He continues to be involved in public schools by working collaboratively with schools and school districts to develop effective school-university partnerships.
