Sanford Greene
Sanford Greene
Sanford Greene is a multiple Eisner Award–winning comics artist with over fifteen years of professional experience across Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, and Image Comics. His notable credits include Power Man and Iron Fist, Black Panther, Luke Cage, and Doom for Marvel. He is the co-creator and artist of Bitter Root, an Eisner Award-winning dark fantasy series set during the Harlem Renaissance, published by Image Comics. Greene is also the creator of 1000 for Line Webtoon, which received the 2018 Ringo Award for Best Webcomic. In 2020, he won the Ringo Award for Best Artist for his work on Bitter Root.
Chuck Brown
Chuck Brown is an Eisner and Ringo Award-winning writer and co-creator of Bitter Root (Image Comics). His comics credits include The Punisher, Wolverine, and Black Panther for Marvel, Rotten Apple for Dark Horse Comics, On the Stump for Image Comics, and Line Webtoon projects such as 1000. Bitter Root is currently in development as a live-action film produced by Ryan Coogler and Zinzi Evans for Legendary Pictures.
Tom Akel
Tom Akel is the co-writer of Stan Lee’s Backchannel and the CEO & Publisher of Rocketship Entertainment, a company with multiple Eisner-nominated and Ringo Award-winning series. Prior to Rocketship, Akel led the U.S. expansion of Webtoon as Head of Content, overseeing a portfolio of over 150 titles and developing key partnerships. As an editor, he won back-to-back Ringo Awards for Best Webcomic for Dean Haspiel’s The Red Hook and Sanford Greene’s 1000, as well as an Eisner nomination for Ryan Benjamin’s Brothers Bond. He previously served as Executive Producer and Executive Editor of MTV Digital, overseeing digital extensions for numerous MTV shows and founding MTV Geek and MTV Comics. At Comedy Central and Spike TV, Akel founded their mobile divisions, producing projects like South Park 10: The Game and the animated series Samurai Love God. He holds an MFA in Design + Technology from Parsons School of Design and resides in Los Angeles.
