Samuel Johnston
Samuel Johnston studied sociology and politics, first at the University of Cambridge and then at the University of Oxford. He has had a life-long interest in games and puzzles, beginning with some extremely competitive games of Monopoly with his family during childhood summer holidays. Together with Mark Wainwright he founded the game studio Bleppo in 2023 which has produced Steks, Word Salad, and Number Salad.
Mark Wainwright studied mathematics and computer science at Imperial College London. He worked as a software engineer in the music industry for a decade before founding Bleppo. Mark created the first prototype for Word Salad as a puzzle to entertain his now-wife Stephanie during the 2020 lockdowns. He and Samuel Johnston both live and work in London.
