Critics Review

Praise for Evil at our Table “Stein’s thoughtful narrative compassionately shares her experiences as a forensic psychologist….You may find yourself being challenged with a new understanding of the human condition.” —Sister Helen Prejean, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Dead Man Walking“Stein’s raw and propulsive writing will not let you stop reading…Some readers will change their minds about whether monsters are real. Some will not. But every single one, I think, by the end of this book, will never think of these offenders the same way again.” —David Dow, author of Autobiography of an Execution“In this gripping account, Samantha Stein, PsyD…exposes herself as she questions and grapples with the need for justice as well as punishment, and in the end presents us with one of the most disturbing yet deeply compassionate portraits in the field of criminal behavior.” —Jonathan Santlofer, author of the bestselling novels The Lost Van Gogh and The Last Mona Lisa“Stein hooked me with hard-won authenticity, equal parts emotional volatility and tenderness. This is a fascinating, won’t-flinch story that keeps the pages flying by.” —Joshua Mohr, Author of Model Citizen
