About the Author

Sam Gill, Emeritus Professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder, is the author of many books and articles, most recently Religion and Technology into the Future (2018), Creative Encounters, Appreciating Difference (2019), and The Proper Study of Religion: Building on Jonathan Z. Smith (2020). He has written many books on Native American and other Indigenous cultures including Native American Religions: An Introduction and the Dictionary of Native American Mythology. He has conducted studies in Africa, Indonesia, Latin America, Southeast Asia and Australia. As a dancer and dance teacher he wrote Dancing Culture Religion and he created a world dance and music school.
