Sally Prue is the author of many children's books for all ages, including stories for the Oxford Reading Tree and novels for older readers. Her book Cold Tom won the Branford Boase Award and the Smarties Silver Award, and Song Hunter won the Young Quills Award for historical fiction. Sally lives in Hertfordshire and is really interested in frogs, art, making things, music, people, ideas and fabrics. She has a set of Northumbrian bagpipes, but she doesn't play them very often (which is probably a good thing).
Tom Knight is an illustrator and author from the east coast of England, where he lives with his wife and two sons. When not illustrating, Tom can be found plonking away on various stringed instruments, or wishing he knew how to fix the broken boat in the front garden.
Series consultant Nikki Gamble is the director of Just Imagine, a specialist resource and training centre for Primary English. She is Associate Consultant at the University of London, Institute of Education.
