About The Author
Rupert Collens
Sir Rupert Mackeson has written many well-reviewed books on horse racing under the pen name Rupert Collens. He is the ideal author for this book about Churchill’s racehorses, as they both attended Harrow, starting in the fourth form and residing in the same house (The Head Master’s). Rupert witnessed Churchill’s visits to the school several times, where the boys entertained him with songs. Moreover, like Churchill, Rupert was commissioned into a cavalry regiment after leaving Harrow.
