Rudyard Kipling
Joseph Rudyard Kipling (1865 - 1936) was an English short-story writer, poet, and novelist.
Born in Bombay, India, Kipling was brought to England by his family at the age of five. He is known for his tales and poems about the British in India, as well as his beloved children’s stories, including The Jungle Book and Just So Stories.
Kipling’s son, John, died in the First World War during the Battle of Loos in September 1915, at the age of 18.
