About The Author
Rockwell Porter Ward
Rockwell (Rock) Ward is a retired Presbyterian minister and a graduate of Rhodes College and Union Presbyterian Seminary. After serving two pastorates in Virginia, he worked as a campus chaplain at Appalachian State University and Warren Wilson College.
Rock possesses a lifelong passion for astronomy, in addition to hiking and caving. He owns a rooftop observatory and has shared his enthusiasm for the night sky with diverse groups, from children at summer camps to senior citizens. He and Marrion have traveled to Norway, Venezuela, Chile, Iceland, and Easter Island to observe eclipses and other astronomical events. He has also visited numerous countries as a volunteer worker and a curious traveler.
Currently, Rock is captivated by the ancient phenomenon of Thin Places and is researching the evolution of the cosmos.
