What They're Saying
Critics Review
“Roberto Saviano invites us to dive into the wreckage all around us, and to swim as hard as we can toward a distant and indistinct shore-a world that could be or should be but is not yet. Saviano’s mind is both mirror and window, and as I followed him on his journey of discovery and surprise, I turned and saw myself, in formation. Shout It Out! is fired with an intense longing for freedom, a hunger that makes your heart ache even as it fills it with hope. When I finished the book-my courage and commitment fortified, my community enlarged and illuminated, my hold on a possible future renewed-I ran to the shores of Lake Michigan where I leaned into an intense wind and shouted out for joy and for justice.” -Bill Ayers, author of Demand the Impossible! and When Freedom is the Question
“Roberto Saviano reminds us that the best writing, the best thought, is always a kind of fierce advocacy: for truth, justice, humanity, solidarity. He inspires us to raise our voices and find the courage to make them real, whatever the cost.”-Wen Stephenson, author of Learning to Live in the Dark: Essays in a Time of Catastrophe
