About The Author

Robert Rhodes James

Robert Rhodes James was educated in India, Sedbergh School and Worcester College beforeembarking on a career as a writer and clerk in the House of Commons. In 1964 he receivedthe Award of the Royal Society of Literature and was subsequently made a Fellow of theRoyal Society. An uncle and cousin both served at Gallipoli, the latter being one of the fewsurvivors of the disastrous landing from the collier River Clyde on 25th April 1915.
