Robert Quackenbush
Robert Quackenbush (1929–2021)
Robert Quackenbush was an prolific author and illustrator with over two hundred books for young readers to his name. He was a graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles and held advanced degrees, including a master’s in social studies and a PhD in childhood education.
Quackenbush’s extensive bibliography features beloved series such as:

- Sheriff Sally Gopher
His contributions to children’s literature were recognized with multiple awards, including three American Flag Institute Awards for outstanding contributions and an Edgar Allan Poe Special Award for best juvenile mystery.
