Fresh off the biggest bomb in Hollywood history, producer Nathan T. Rex enters a downward spiral of drugs and depravity in a quest to resurrect his career and save his soul. Over budget and behind schedule on PRESIDENTS DAY, he is backed into a corner by bad publicity, a crap project, and studio politics. But enlisting serial-killer-turned-murder-consultant Darwin, his trusty assistant Igor, narcotics from Doctor Love, and the lovely actress Coconut, T. Rex will stop at nothing in his quest for cinematic fame and glory. God help us all.

• The Auteur is self-reflexive, turning amirror not only on the creative process, but the public consumption of that endresult. It knows full-well that most people will view it very much like a moviecalled Death Fist: with derision, passing judgement and indefinable distaste.And that's just fine by me. • In Nathan“T-Rex” Rex, the star of the story, I definitely see a reflection ofmy own desire to create something mind-blowingly unique, as well as my ownconcerns about whether or not I'll ever actually be able to do so. In Zaul Pear,T-Rex's employer, I detect my own jaded ennui, while Zed, Zaul's son who is theone actually running the business, clearly represents my own temptations tothrow in the towel on creative integrity and do something that'll make me lotsof money. I think that the most valuable thing that this book has to offer thereader is the insight into our own fears and confidences that it provides. Evenif the story never really goes anywhere, I think that this series will be worthfollowing. 7.8/10- Culture Mass

Rick Spears has written numerous graphic novels and comics including, TEENAGERS FROM MARS, BLACK METAL, and THE AUTEUR. He's also written for film, television, and directed a handful of award-winning short films. He lives in Richmond, Virginia, with his wife, son, and schnauzer.
