What They're Saying

Critics Review

★ “A decidedly tardy tribute to a brilliant 19th-century scientist and suffragist…A nuanced portrait of a woman who was ahead of her times in more ways than one.” –Kirkus, starred review

★”Donnelly and López celebrate the acumen of American scientist and suffragist Eunice Newton Foote in this engaging account of the subject’s work.“–Publishers Weekly, starred review ★”Young scientists, feminists, and historians will be inspired by Foote’s revolutionary discoveries.“–Booklist, starred review

”…the steady, focused narrative here moves seamlessly among her roles in women’s suffrage, motherhood, and science, giving each its due…and a running visual motif shows Foote inside thinly lined white boxes…a clever representation of her boundary pushing.“–BCCB
