Ram Swaroop Meena
Dr. Meena
Dr. Meena, born into a farming family, is a researcher in the Department of Agronomy at IAS, BHU, Varanasi. He holds fellowships from prestigious academies including the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS), the National Academy of Biological Sciences (NABS), the Indian Society of Agronomy (ISA), and the Society for Rapeseed-Mustard Research (SRMR). He was awarded the Raman Fellowship by the Ministry of Education for research in the USA, working with Prof. Rattan Lal. He also served as an INSA visiting scientist at ISARC-IRRI.
Dr. Meena’s research focuses on natural resource management and the recycling of farm and industrial waste for improved soil health. He investigates energy flow, atmospheric CO2 capture, carbon credit and auditing, and eco-friendly techniques for sustainable food systems and soil regeneration. His work is evidenced by high-impact publications and farmer-level extension activities. He has guided 8 PhD and 29 Master’s students and completed 10 externally funded projects.
With an H-index of 76, an I-10 index of 222, and over 17,250 citations, his research significantly contributes to understanding soil carbon stability, microbial and nutrient dynamics in diversified cropping systems, and climate-smart agricultural practices for tribal communities. He has also been involved in agricultural extension activities in villages identified by the Prime Minister of India. His future work aims to reduce soil organic carbon oxidation and enhance its stability in agroecosystems, thereby enabling farmers to benefit from carbon credits.
Dr. Manoj Kumar Jhariya
Dr. Manoj Kumar Jhariya is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Farm Forestry at Sant Gahira Guru Vishwavidyalaya (formerly Sarguja University), Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, India. He holds B.Sc. (Agriculture), M.Sc. (Forestry), and PhD. (Forestry) degrees from Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. He was awarded a University Gold Medal for first-class first position in his PhD examination and received the Chhattisgarh Young Scientist Award in 2013. He was also a recipient of a UGC-RGNF Fellowship.
Dr. Jhariya is an active member of the editorial boards of several journals and a life member of various scientific societies, including The Indian Science Congress Association and the Applied and Natural Science Foundation. He is dynamically involved in teaching and research in the field of Farm Forestry.
Dr. Arnab Banerjee
Dr. Arnab Banerjee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Science at Sarguja Vishwavidyalaya, Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, India. He earned his M.Sc. and PhD. in Environmental Science from Burdwan University and an M.Phil. in Environmental Science from Kalyani University, West Bengal. He received a University Gold Medal for securing first-class first position in his M.Sc. examinations and was awarded the Young Scientist Award for best oral presentation at an international conference. Dr. Banerjee was a project fellow under a UGC-sponsored major research project and is a life member of the Academy of Environmental Biology. In addition to his research and teaching responsibilities, he supervises postgraduate students.
Dr. Sandeep Kumar
Dr. Sandeep Kumar is a scientist specializing in Agronomy at the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Regional Station, Karnal, India. His research focuses on enhancing resource use efficiencies in conservation agriculture-based rice-wheat systems for sustainable crop production. He has authored and edited 8 books with publishers like Springer and Elsevier, and has edited special issues for MDPI and Frontier journals.
Dr. Kumar is an active reviewer for numerous highly reputed journals, including Sustainability, Agriculture, Agricultural Water Management, Soil and Tillage, European Journal of Agronomy, Plant and Soil, and PLOS One.
