Growing up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she dreamed of becoming a pilot, inspired by her father, a former flight instructor. After a long career in journalism, Lauren earned her pilot’s license in her 40s. As a mom, her love of storytelling, adventure, and seeing her own children’s wonder motivated her to write The Fly Who Flew series.
