Critics Review
A treasure trove of magic. * Abi Elphinstone *
A gorgeous, cosy story filled with nature, friendship and adventure. I can’t wait to find out what Max and Tuft get up to next! * Katya Balen *
A charming story with a heartfelt environmental message, all about trusting new friends, treasuring family and memories, and protecting our ancient trees and all who dwell in them. * Liz Flanagan *
Utterly enchanting and gorgeously written. I lost myself in Silverthorn Forest with Tuftorious Snook and Max, and I highly recommend that everyone else does the same. Beneath this story’s warmth and charm is an extremely timely message about the importance of looking after the world around us and standing up for what is right. * Clare Harlow *
What a cosy read, so full of warmth and charm! A gorgeous tale of courage, friendship and discovering the true value in the things we sometimes overlook. An absolute classic in the making! * Chrissie Sains *
Rachel Chivers Khoo
Rachel Chivers Khoo was born in Belfast and spent most of her childhood sheltering in her local library from the endless Northern Irish rain. She studied English Literature at Oxford before working in book publishing. She is the author of The Wishkeeper’s Apprentice and The Magician Next Door. She lives in Oxford with her family and far too many books.
Laura Catalán is a Spanish children’s book illustrator. She obtained a degree in Anthropology while practising her favourite activity from childhood: drawing. For several years she attended drawing lessons at the Fine Arts Centre of Sant Lluç in Barcelona. She then decided to shift gears and pursue a career in children’s illustration as it merged two of her favourite things in the world: books and drawing. For over a decade she has been illustrating educational material and children’s fiction, especially middle grade fiction and picture books for clients all over the world. Laura lives in Barcelona.
