Caine grew up in west Texas and graduated from Socorro High School in El Paso, Texas, in 1980. She is a 1985 graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor's degree in accounting (with a minor in music). Caine has been writing and publishing novels and short stories since 1990. She is a former professional musician who has the distinction of having played with such musical legends as Henry Mancini, Peter Nero, and John Williams. She is also an avid movie buff and TV watcher and says she "prefers a good stout Guinness to wimpy American beers."In September 2008 Caine accepted a full-time job as a Director of Corporate Communications for a large multinational company, having taken an eight-month hiatus for most of 2008 to complete pressing deadlines. She lives in north Texas with her husband, artist Cat Conrad. Caine again left her job to return to writing full-time in April 2010. Caine does most of her writing in a coffee shop near her home. Caine listens to music while she writes, the playlist changing from project to project. Emily Sutton-Smith is an actress, singer, producer and arts administrator. She is a co-founder of the Williamston Theatre and was on the staff of the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor where she co-produced the 75th Anniversary production of Follies. She has appeared on the Williamston Theatre stage in End Days, The Usual: A Musical Love Story,The Smell of the Kill, The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-In-The-Moon Marigolds (2009 Lansing State Journal Best Actress Thespie Award), Maidens, Mothers and Crones and Additional Particulars. Emily has been narrating audio books since 2012, with over 150 books to her credit, some of which include The Stillhouse Lake series by Rachel Caine and the Tracy Crosswhite series by Robert Dugoni. Lauren Ezzo is a Chicago-based audiobook narrator and commercial voice talent. She has narrated over 100 titles for authors including Catherine Ryan Hyde, Adam Rapp, M. Dressler, Christopher Rice, Kirk Lynn and Dot Hutchison. She has won multiple awards for her narration, including several AudioFile Earphones Awards. She is a proud member of the Audio Publishers Association, and a lifelong bookworm. Will Ropp is an actor and writer, known for Steps (2015), Christmas (2014) and The 'Claw. Dan John Miller, multiple Audie finalist and Earphones award winner, has been named as a “Best Voice” by AudioFile magazine. He has acted in several films including Walk the Line and Leatherheads, and is the singer and songwriter for gothic country rock band Blanche. Dan has lived his entire life in the Detroit area and is married to the painter Tracee Mae Miller.
