Critics Review
“Psychedelic Psychotherapy is the book I wanted to write and would have been proud to have written. It must be on the bookshelf of every therapist who presently does this work, or hopes to do it in the future.” -Ann Shulgin, coauthor of PIHKAL: A Chemical Love Story and TIHKAL: The Continuation
“R. Coleman probably knows more than anyone else I know about the issues and methods for guiding.” -James Fadiman, PhD, author of The Psychedelic Explorer’s Guide
“A very good handbook, guidebook, sourcebook, and grounded outline for explorers and sitters alike. It’s user friendly, accessible, and covers all the bases well.” -Harvey L. Schwartz, author of Dialogues with Forgotten Voices
About The Author
R. Coleman
For over thirty years, R. Coleman specialized in facilitating psychedelic drug-assisted psychotherapy sessions in Southern California. He specialized in working with survivors of severe childhood trauma who were resistant to, or disappointed with, mainstream therapy. The foundation of his work was built on twenty years of serious spiritual practice and extensive studies of psychotherapeutic principles. His passion for this cutting-edge modality came from personal experience using the drugs to heal his own extensive childhood wounds. When he began his psychedelic therapy in 1986, information about psychedelic therapy was sparse, and qualified, psychedelically informed therapists were almost impossible to find. Consequently, he spent years discovering what works and what does not–both for himself and for his patients. He wrote this book to share these discoveries.
