Prue Leith
Dame Prue Leith, 86, is a distinguished businesswoman, renowned for her Michelin-starred restaurant and the Prue Leith’s School of Food and Wine, which she sold in 1995.
A prolific author, she has penned over a dozen cookery books, seven novels, and her memoir, Relish, published in 2013. She has also contributed as a columnist for prominent newspapers.
Leith’s television career began in the 1970s as a presenter. She later returned to television as a judge on The Great British Menu for 11 years, departing in 2016. She also judged My Kitchen Rules before succeeding Mary Berry on The Great British Bake Off.
Her commitment extends to general education and diverse organizations, including Ashridge Management College, King’s College, and as Chancellor of Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. At the RSA, she championed the successful campaign to utilize the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square for contemporary art installations.
Leith has held non-executive director positions at numerous prominent companies, including British Rail, Safeway, Whitbread plc, and Woolworths plc. She is also a director and investor in several start-up ventures.
In February 2024, her ten-part cookery series, Prue Leith’s Cotswold Kitchen, premiered on ITV1, with a second series commissioned for September 2024. In 2025, Leith participated in The Masked Singer, portraying “Pegasus.”
