The book might well be the last word on the subject” – Chris Charlesworth * Just Backdated *“An enthralling book. We thoroughly recommend it” * Word in Your Ear *“A sophisticated, immensely detailed study of a pop phenomenon as absorbed and absorbing as the best literary biographies” – Roger Lewis * Mail on Sunday *“Captures all (their) messy brilliance. It is to the author’s credit that even those who know plenty about the band’s highs any many lows will find much to enthral them here” * Irish Independent *“A thoughtful recalibration of the Beach Boys story….Doggett is scrupulously fair in his analysis. A sad tale well told. 8/10” * Uncut Magazine *“A smorgasbord of magical wonder 9/10” * Classic Rock *“Beguiling montage of essays about one of America’s most bewitching and bewildering bands.
