About The Author
Pelé
Pelé (1940-2022) joined his first professional soccer team at age fifteen and went on to have a dazzling career. He became the top scorer in the history of the Brazil national team, as well as the first player ever to win three World Cup medals. He also played for the New York Cosmos, and his charisma and grace on the field helped popularize soccer in the United States. After his retirement in 1977, he became an ambassador for soccer worldwide. This was his first book for children.
Frank Morrison is the award-winning illustrator of many books for children, including Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award winners Respect: Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul and Trombone Shorty and Coretta Scott King Illustrator Honor book Let the Children March. He lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife and five children.
