Pearl Shihab

Pearl Shihab has wide experience of nursing and midwifery in both hospital and community settings. She has spent the last eleven years teaching biosciences on healthcare programs and supporting students lacking in maths skills.

Has been a Registered Nurse since 1978; working in metropolitan, rural and remote locations and associated with the School of Nursing since in 1994 – as sessional, tutorial and laboratory leader; clinical facilitator. Teaching and research interests include clinical facilitation and adult acute care.
  • Snezana Stolic - RN BN MAppSc GradCertEd, Lecturer, PhD candidate, Queensland University of Technology. Has been a registered nurse since 1989 working primarily in cardiac nursing and critical care units. Specialty clinical areas include pain management, chronic diseases, intensive care patients and cardiac nursing. She began her education career at Griffith University in 2005 moving to QUT in 2010. Snez has taught across the three years of the undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing program and is currently working on a PhD in nursing with a focus on symptom management and quality of life for people with acute coronary syndrome.
  • Caryn West, Lecturer, James Cook University. Has been a registered nurse for some years and have primarily worked in the peri-operative environment in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Specialty clinical area is pain management, acute, chronic and pain research. Currently completing a PhD in nursing with a focus on the link between chronic pain and family resilience.
