Critics Review
“Paul Watts’ Myths and Legends of the Medieval World offers a broad yet insightful exploration of medieval myths, emphasizing their reception and transmission within their historical context. By integrating oral traditions, performance culture, and folk beliefs, Watts reconstructs how medieval audiences experienced these stories, distinguishing his work from studies that focus solely on textual sources.”– “Medieval History”
Paul Watts
Paul is the author of the Medieval History blog, which covers a range of topics from the history and folklore of the medieval period. He has always taken a keen interest in history, a passion that led him to participate in historical re-enactment during the 1990s and early 2000s.
For his day job, Paul has worked in market research and publishing, but history has always been his ‘secret love’. Later in life, he had the opportunity to study history and religion with the Open University, taking courses in Religion, Classical Greece, and Roman history. After engaging with various online communities and history forums for several years, he finally bit the bullet and began writing the Medieval History blog at the start of 2022.
Paul now writes regularly on medieval history, mythology, folklore, and supernatural beliefs. He lives in Cornwall, England, with his wife Alice and two cats.
