About The Author
Patrick Nold
Patrick Nold studied history at the University of Michigan as an undergraduate and completed his DPhil at the University of Oxford. After postdoctoral positions in Oxford and Toronto, he was a Humboldt scholar at the Monumenta Germaniae Historica in Munich. He has also held fellowships at Villa i Tatti (the Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies) and at the American Academy in Rome. He is Professor and Chair of the Department of History at the University at Albany (SUNY).
