About The Author
Paolo Mauro
Paolo Mauro worked on macroeconomic and fiscal issues at the International Monetary Fund for three decades. From 2014 to 2016, he was senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and visiting professor at Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School. In late 2023, he joined the International Finance Corporation as Director of the Economic and Market Research Department. He is the coauthor of Emerging Markets and Financial Globalization and the editor of Chipping Away at Public Debt.
