Description

A book about personal space represented by a bubble described in my words.

Inside that bubble is more bubbles, all of them representing a different layer - but all these bubbles are invisible to the eye so we need to learn how to protect our own bubbles and respect others!

Sometimes understanding personal space can be tricky, and we don't what to do if we accidentally pop another persons bubble.

PERSONAL SPACE

Something that is important to all of us and so important to teach to ensure safety. But when you're little, WHAT IS PERSONAL SPACE?

- You know when yours has been invaded from the not so good feelings

- Its so hard to imagine something that doesn't physically exist, but exists emotionally

- You haven't developed the social cues yet of understanding others space

- When you're neurodivergent, those social cues are so hard or even IMPOSSIBLE to see

- 'Personal' and 'space' are two pretty advanced adult words and terms

- Bubbles are a great example of space within an allocated zone, and most kids LOVE BUBBLES! It gives a physical imagining to an invisible concept.

I do not use big words or acronyms that take the child out of the book, asking 'what does that mean?', a light rhyming story that can be a great conversation opener on what personal space means to YOUR family.

We all have a bubble and value our personal space layers. As a neurodivergent individual, personal space is paramount to me. I don't just like and value my personal space, it is critical for my headspace to be able to function.

This is my second book in my 'Neurodiversity Without All The Terminology' series.

Critic Reviews

Nell is clearly a very gifted illustrator and children's author.

Using beautiful drawings, rhyme and the right vocabulary, she is able to explain what it is like in the mind of someone who is neurodivergent.

It also helps kids with neurodiversity understand it in themselves.

If there is someone neurodivergent in your life, this is a great series of books to help you and them understand it better.

I cannot recommend Nell and her books enough.

I am already looking forward to the third in the series.
