Supervision of Learning and Assessment in Healthcare, 5th Edition

Neil Gopee is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at Coventry University, and was previously an Associate Lecturer at the Open University. As an external examiner at various higher education institutions, Gopee has gained insights into teaching, learning, assessment, leadership, and management in healthcare.

Gopee qualified as a nurse and worked in general surgical nursing before becoming a registered mental health nurse. His clinical experience in primary care and general intensive care nursing is complemented by professional development courses, including workshops on writing for publication, and a doctorate in continuing professional education from the University of Warwick.

With nurse education programmes becoming more established in UK universities, Gopee authored “Mentoring and Supervision in Healthcare,” now in its fifth edition. He also wrote “Leadership and Management in Healthcare” (up to its third edition), and “Practice Teaching in Healthcare” and “Leading and Managing Healthcare” (published in 2022). He has written chapters in edited books and published peer-reviewed articles.
