About The Author

Nathan Bolton

Nathan Bolton is a former Special Operations Engineer who deployed twice to Afghanistan with the Australian Special Forces, working alongside the Commandos and SAS in hostile territory. Upon returning home, he faced the formidable challenges of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Major Depression. After hitting rock bottom, Nathan recognized the rigid stoic views hindering his recovery and embarked on a torturous yet transformative journey. He not only overcame his demons but also learned to leverage his past pain to support others on similar paths.

Nathan is now a dedicated mental health advocate, promoting awareness, reducing stigma, and encouraging help-seeking behaviors. With a singular mission to inspire and empower individuals during times of crisis, he has actively participated in various advocacy roles, serving on esteemed councils and committees such as the SA Premier’s Council on Suicide Prevention and WellbeingSA’s Community Advisory Committee for Mental Health. As the State Representative of the Special Operations Engineers Regiment Welfare Association and Director of Bolton Brothers, a men’s psychology company, Nathan offers support and wellbeing and resilience training.

Continuing his mission as a keynote speaker and published author, Nathan shares his past experiences, mistakes, and lessons learned. He aims to prevent others from repeating his errors and to demonstrate the true strength and courage found in vulnerability.
