Monica Brown
Monica Brown is the author of many magical multicultural books for children, including the Lola Levine series and the award-winning Waiting for the Biblioburro / Esperando el Biblioburro, Marisol McDonald Doesn’t Match / Marisol McDonald no Combina, and Frida and Her Animalitos. Monica’s books are inspired by her Peruvian and Jewish heritage and her desire to bring fun and empowering stories to children. Monica lives in Flagstaff, Arizona, with her family.
Chelen Écija is an illustrator, author, and hand letterer. When she’s not working on books, she’s teaching undergrads or researching the connection between people and the signs that surround them. She lives in Spain with her husband and two kiddos, where she enjoys plenty of sunny days camping and the occasional snowy day snowboarding.
