About The Author

Mirra Todd

MIRRA TODD trained at VCA and is an award-winning playwright, director and actor. Her playwright credits include Chemical Handcuffs, Being Alive, Shushed, Fragments, The Duplicates, Gangland, The Line-Up, Hard Swallow, Strong as Blood, Personal Stranger, and Paper Truths. Her credits as director include Chemical Handcuffs, Being Alive, Box, Brigitte, Bracken, The Duplicates, and Heart of Darkness. Todd has also had an extensive career as an actor including for Chapel Off Chapel and for the 47th International Festival of monodrama in Wroclaw. Her other theatre credits include The Line-Up, Personal Strangers, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night, and Romeo and Juliet. Todd has served as artistic director and CEO of Milk Crate Theatre and the artistic director of Company Elixir. She was shortlisted for the Patrick Whyte Award S.T.C. and winner of 2 Image of the Aged Awards for her play The Outsiding, Strong as Blood was winner of best play by a young playwright and shortlisted for the Griffin Theatre Award, Catching Breath was short-listed for the James Joyce Award, and as an actor she won the Directors Choice award, Critics Choice award and People’s Choice award all for Harry’s Christmas, (Festival Wroclaw).
