Mimi Petersen
Michelle, writing as Mimi, was given her nickname by her sister Liz, who couldn’t pronounce “baby” or “Michelle” as a child. Growing up in Waukesha, WI, with her mother and two siblings, Michelle overcame early challenges with reading and comprehension to develop a love for literacy.
Married for 17 years with a daughter, a beagle, and a guinea pig, Michelle has spent 18 years in healthcare. Writing has been a therapeutic outlet for her, helping her cope with anxiety, depression, and stress. What began as poems evolved into creative stories inspired by her stuffed animal ducks, like Bubba and MoMo. She has written several “Gus and Bubba” adventure tales, including one about her dog’s quest for a playmate.
