About The Author

Meysam Madadi

Dr. Meysam Madadi holds a master of science in Biotechnology from the University of Tehran, Karaj, Iran, and a Ph.D. in Biomass and Bioenergy from Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China. Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor at the School of Biotechnology, Jiangnan University, Wuxi, China, specializing in research areas related to waste management and its conversion to biofuels, biochemicals, and biomaterials using green and environmentally friendly processing technologies. Dr. Madadi has published more than 40 papers on the topics of pretreatment, renewable energy, waste-to-energy, catalytic pyrolysis, and resource recovery in the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Chemical Engineering Journal, Green Chemistry, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Journal of Cleaner Production.

Dr. Mahdy Elsayed received a Ph.D. in Environmental and Energy Engineering from the College of Engineering at Huazhong Agricultural University, China. His primary research interests lie in biosystems engineering and biorefineries, with a focus on cleaner and sustainable production of biofuels and bioproducts. Dr. Elsayed is currently dedicated to researching the pretreatment and conversion of biowaste, along with other second-generation feedstocks, for efficient utilization in biofuel production.

Dr. Mortaza Aghbashlo is an Associate Professor of Biosystems Engineering (University of Tehran, Iran). Mortaza has published over 300 publications, including original research papers and reviews in international scientific journals. He is the Co-Editor of the Book Volumes “Biodiesel: From Production to Combustion” and “Fungi in Fuel Biotechnology” which were published by Springer Nature in 2018, and is on the Editorial Board of Progress in Energy and Combustion Sciences (Elsevier), Biofuel Research Journal (BRJ), and e-Prime (Elsevier).

Meisam Tabatabaei is a Professor of Environmental Biotechnology at the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia. Over the last decade, Meisam has worked closely with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to promote waste-oriented biofuels in the developing world. Since 2016, he has been the lead collaborator of the Lancet Commission on Public Health and Climate Change (UCL, UK). He has published over 400 publications, including original research papers and reviews in journals such as The LANCET, Progress in Energy and Combustion Sciences, Nature Food, Trends in Biotechnology, and Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews. He is currently also a Visiting Professor at the Henan Agricultural University, China, and University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He is a member of the editorial board for the journals Progress in Energy and Combustion Sciences, Biofuel Research Journal, Scientific Reports, International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment, Data in Brief, and Energy Sources, Part A: Recovery, Utilization and Environmental Effects. Prof. Tabatabaei is the Associate Editor of Critical Reviews in Biotechnology and Resources, Environment, and Sustainability and Senior Editor of e-Prime.
