About the Author

Melvin Burgess is a British author of children's fiction. His first book, The Cry of the Wolf, was published in 1990. He gained a certain amount of notoriety in 1996 with the publication of Junk, which dealt with the controversial idea of heroin-addicted teenagers. Junk soon became one of the best-known young adult books of the decade. He lives in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, with his partner Anita. Katrina Baylis is an actor, storyteller and voice-over artist. She regularly works on radio and television, as well as the stage. Katrina is well known for her storytelling character of Fairy Trina. She was born in England, but has now made her home in Australia.
