Description

Today many who call themselves Christians are repudiating the truths upon which the work of Christ is based. The true meaning of Calvary is lost in the chaos and busyness of the 21st century and in the drive for self-gratification, status, or wealth.

It's time to take a step back and savor the Gospel message. If you've read the story of the cross only as it is recorded in the Gospels, then reading this book will bring you a new vision of the meaning of Calvary. The author will help you to behold more clearly He who died to save us from this fallen world.

"Meade [MacGuire] was one of the few ... who grasped the 1888 gospel message. ... His books and writings ... acted as a bridge between 1888 and our time, so that truth was preserved, and witness was borne to it, even in the years when the actual writings of Waggoner and Jones were all but lost and forgotten." -Fred Wright, The Messenger and News Review, April 1984

About the Author

Meade MacGuire (1875-1967) was a prominent Seventh-day Adventist leader and author. As a young man, his desire to reach the youth of the church led him to organize one of the first youth societies among Adventists. The idea was met with much condescension on the part of the elders, but young Meade pushed on and started meeting with the young people to study, sing, pray, and give testimonies. This drive carried MacGuire through many years of service to the Church in numerous capacities. He served at the Review and Herald Publishing Association, organized the youth of Battle Creek for study and missionary work, served in the Colorado Conference office, was business manager of Boulder Sanitarium and Hospital, and is the author of a number small books on the 1888 gospel message.Until his death in the 1960s, Meade MacGuire faithfully carried the standard of the 1888 message and shared it in his beautiful and simple way wherever he had the opportunity.
