About The Author

M.D. Darius A. Rastegar

Darius A. Rastegar is a Professor of Clinical Medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He graduated from University of Pennsylvania Medical School and completed his training in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine and has had over 25 years of clinical experience treating patients with substance use disorders. He is the medical director of the Addiction Medicine Unit at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and the Program Director for the Addiction Medicine Fellowship at Johns Hopkins.

Michael I. Fingerhood is a Professor of Medicine and Public Health at Johns Hopkins University, and Chief of the Division of Addiction Medicine within the Johns Hopkins Department of Medicine. He graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY, and completed internal medicine training and a chief resident year at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine and has had over 35 years of clinical experience treating patients with substance use disorders. He chairs the ASAM State of the Art Conference and the ASAM Medical Education Council.
