About The Author

Marvyn Harrison

Marvyn Harrison is a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Consultant and the founder Dope Black Dads, a support group and podcast that works to challenge outdated stereotypes about Black fatherhood and cultivating a progressive, inclusive community of parents. Marvyn previously has had a long career in music and advertising, spending over a decade in the industry working with a variety of clients, from artists such as Ed Sheeran and Samsung to Manchester City Football Club.

He started Dope Black Dads on Father’s Day 2018, when it was made up of him and his friends sharing their experiences and challenges as Black fathers in a WhatsApp and Facebook group.

Diane Ewen was born in Walsall, in the West Midlands. Diane loves working in illustration, liking the fact that the artwork is often the first thing that draws children into a book, and finding inspiration in the use of vibrant colour. With her dynamic style and characters that leap and cartwheel off the page, she is one of England’s most fun and exciting illustration talents.
