About The Author
Martyn Howe
Martyn Howe is a former multinational technology executive with 40 years of experience. He rediscovered his passion for walking outdoors after his career, completing all 19 of Britain’s National Trails in 2016. This undertaking involved covering 3,000 miles over 153 days, traversing some of the world’s most beautiful and varied landscapes.
Howe’s first book, Tales from the Big Trails, recounts this experience. Upon completing his final trail in Cromer, Norfolk, he became aware of a significant project to establish a new 2,700-mile National Trail encircling the coast of England, now known as the King Charles III England Coast Path. Howe felt compelled to walk this new route.
His second book, The Coast is Our Compass, details his experiences on this coastal pilgrimage. It delves into the personal feelings associated with undertaking such a journey and explores how it offered him deeper insights into himself and the challenges facing the world.
