It all started with a road trip in 1974 for three brothers exploring the South Island of New Zealand. When their house-truck breaks down near Havelock, the gateway to the Sounds, they think their journey is over. But really, it has just begun… Join Marty, Paul and Steve as they explore deeper and deeper into the enchanting labyrinth of the Sounds, gathering friends off the road, searching for a place to call home. The locals call them “the hippies” and cultures soon clash in this enclave of fishermen and farmers. Drug bust and betrayal, shipwreck and survival, are all part of the journey, as are the friendships made and lessons learnt.
