About The Author
Maria V. Snyder
Maria V. Snyder originally aspired to be a storm chaser, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Pennsylvania State University. After discovering that forecasting wasn’t her forte, she worked as an environmental meteorologist. Seeking a creative outlet, she began writing fantasy and science fiction stories.
Now the author of over a dozen novels and numerous short stories, Maria has achieved New York Times bestseller status and won several awards. She also holds a Masters of Arts degree in Writing from Seton Hill University, where she is now a faculty member.
Her favorite color is red, and despite being allergic to dogs, she shares her home with a big black tomcat named Kitty. Maria also has a husband and two children. When not writing, she enjoys playing volleyball, traveling, and taking pictures. She enjoys the research aspect of being a writer, which allows her to take fencing lessons, learn how to ride a horse, study martial arts, learn how to pick a lock, take glass blowing classes, and attend Astronomy Camp.
