Summary
Adorable Beasts: Weaving Wonders on the Pin Loom
Think outside the square! Although pin looms do make squares, there is so much more you can do with the cloth you weave, starting with the adorable creatures in this book.
Margaret Stump has created a collection of thirty animals made just from pin loom weaving. Would you ever guess that you could make a giraffe, hedgehog, elephant, hippo, sea turtle, and so many more animals from these little woven squares? And it’s easy!

Critics Review
This beautifully illustrated volume is packed with inspiring projects to try on your pin loom. Margaret Stump begins by introducing pin looms and giving straightforward instructions for weaving and joining the woven squares. She then shows you how to make a veritable zoo of animals, 30 different species (including humans), from alpacas, bears and chimpanzees, to sloths, turtles and zebras–with unicorns and dragons in there too.
The final section of the book details four different playscapes: an animal rescue hospital playscape, complete with truck and helicopter; a baby or toddler blanket, with baby-safe animals; a medieval castle, with a tower, stables and a princess; and finally, a Noah’s ark playscape where the ark becomes a tote bag.
This is a fabulous book for those of us who love pin weaving. It challenges us to go beyond the obvious, and–quite literally–to think outside the square!–Naomi James “Yarn”
