Marc Fennell
Marc Fennell is a Walkley Award-winning journalist and an AACTA Award-nominated filmmaker. He is the creator of the popular television series and podcast Stuff the British Stole for ABC Australia and CBC Canada. He is also the quizmaster on SBS TV’s game show Mastermind.
Fennell is well known for his acclaimed documentaries, earning three nominations for Europe’s prestigious Rose d’Or and eight medals at the New York Festivals TV and Radio Awards. His podcast documentaries, including the Audible Originals It Burns, Nut Jobs (winner of two Australian Podcast Awards and an AIDC Award), House of Skulls, and This Is Not A Game, are available on Audible.
He has reported internationally, covering events such as the 2019 Hong Kong protests, food crime in California, and survivors of ISIS torture. His one-on-one interviews with notable figures like Al Gore, Tom Cruise, Julian Assange, and Jennifer Lawrence have garnered over 30 million online views.
A familiar voice on ABC Radio, Fennell previously presented the technology program Download This Show and served as triple j’s Movie Guy from 2006 to 2017. He also launched a new ABC Radio show last year.
Marc Fennell has authored two books, and Stuff the British Stole is his third. He is a father of two, residing in Sydney, Australia. He also co-founded the not-for-profit advocacy group Media Diversity Australia.
