Remains a key book for me personally and professionally - often borrowed and seldom returned

I really like this book. It's pragmatic and based on years of the author working in the trenches with people who's lives are just ruined by being unable to set boundaries or who don't know how to deal with difficult, nasty or uncaring people or assert themselves. Its something we are typically not taught in our culture and those with trauma are even further behind as their fear holds them back. This method anyone can use and it actually works. It also leaves the NVC version of assertiveness for dead (which always was an utterly useless, disempowering model anyway)
