About The Author
Malcolm Mccarthy
Malc, a proud Padstonian and Cornishman, was born in Redruth in 1957. After finishing sixth form he joined the Metropolitan Police in which he served for twelve years, ten of which on Thames Division, the river police. Moving back to his beloved Padstow he worked for Padstow harbour as Berthing Master for 20 years. Retiring in 1998 he has concentrated on transcribing his vast Cornish document collection, view it on /. Malc has to date written ‘About Padstow’, ‘Around Padstow’, ‘Padstow Through Time’, ‘Padstow History’ Tour and Co-written ‘With a Pasty in my Pocket’ with his best friend Jack Ingrey.
