“Far from narrow minded, each Moon travel guide gives itinerary options for a variety of travelers’ budgets–from frugal to lavish. They make books catering to those who love the outdoors, those who have limited time, those staying exclusively in cities and those who’ve fully committed to living abroad. In all, they have hundreds of titles, ranging Bermuda to Budapest, that’ll teach you to embrace a new culture.”–Gear Patrol, “The Best Travel Guidebooks for Every Journey”
“Moon guides are perfect for the relaxed road tripper or outdoor explorer.”–No Small Plan

About The Author

Lucas Peters

Lucas Peters first landed in Morocco in 2009, seeking a new career teaching English Literature and a grand adventure in a new country. Having lived in various parts of Europe and the US, his experience in Africa was entirely novel. He didn’t anticipate starting this new life from scratch, but that’s precisely what he had to do when none of his luggage arrived. His first two weeks in Morocco were spent in the midst of Ramadan, navigating markets for food, clothing, and other essentials without speaking a word of the local language. This unexpected, sudden immersion in Moroccan life ignited his love for the country.

Since 2009, Lucas has explored Morocco extensively, from the date groves of the Sahara to the fishing villages along the Atlantic Coast. He has dined at Rick’s Cafe in Casablanca, caught a ride on the Marrakesh Express, gotten lost countless times in the labyrinthine medina of Fez, and followed in the footsteps of the Beats in Tangier. Along his journeys, he has picked up some of the languages that make Morocco so captivating, forged lasting friendships, and married his wife, a Tanjaioua from Tangier.

Though Lucas no longer teaches professionally, his travel writing has led him to manage Journey Beyond Travel, one of Morocco’s most successful sustainable tour operators. He resides full-time in Tangier with his wife and two children. As a multi-lingual family, they continue to explore Morocco’s hidden gems: the small towns dotting the national roads, the remote mountain villages, secluded beaches, and the vibrant, twisting passages of the old medinas.
